Our Journey

2023
First Facility

Construction of the first facility began in July 2023 in Haßloch near Mannheim, with approx. 1,700 m² of space and 40 modern storage units.

2024
Opening

After completion in Q1 2024, the site opened in April – featuring sustainable construction, modern safety standards and a digital access system.

2025
Expansion

In early 2025 we expanded to Nordrhein-Westfalen: our largest site to date opened in Gelsenkirchen with nearly 5,000 m². Another site is currently under development in Bad Kreuznach, with the first units already rented.

We’re Looking for New Locations – Is Your Property a Match?

As part of our ongoing growth strategy we’re always on the lookout for suitable plots and existing properties to expand the Spacegenie network.

We’re especially interested in greenfield or brownfield sites between 5,000 and 15,000 m². Previously commercial properties such as car dealerships, logistics halls or retail stores are also ideal if they can be repurposed for self-storage.

Ideally, these sites have building rights in commercial or industrial zones (GE, GI) or qualify under §34 BauGB (existing use rights in inner areas). Existing self-storage facilities are also of interest as investment opportunities.
